The first weekend of the new term saw the 1st XI take on the OMK XI as part of their pre-season preparation. The squad were brought together on the Friday afternoon to set out the expectations of the season ahead and set both team and individual goals. Saturday's fixture against the OMK's was a competitive event with both former pupils, staff, and current staff forming the core of the side. The current MK XI started off on the back foot and took the first 30 minutes to really get going. Becky Lamb (former Prep staff) made the most of MK's fragilities and scored twice in quick succession to put the current XI on the back foot. The second half was a very different story and the current XI grew into the game with more confidence and better quality in the final third of the pitch. Debutant, Jemima Vereker made the most of her chance at a short corner, rattling in a firm shot from the top of the circle. Daisy Heal added another two goals to put the current XI back in control of the game. MK current XI saw out the match in confident style and added a further 2 goals to seal an impressive 5-2 victory. Many thanks to those who returned to play for the OMK side in what was an enjoyable afternoon of hockey.
