Almost 100 OMKs gathered together for a drinks reunion on Tuesday 20 June. The event was once again most generously hsoted by David Lonsdale (1978-81) who kindly supplied the refreshments and venue for the occasion. Previous gatherings have taken place at David's first pub, The Sekforde, but this year we had so many sign up that we moved venue to David's other pub, the Marion Anderson, which was given over for our exclusive use.
We were delighted to welcome a large number of former Mount House pupils, none of whom had attended before - largely thanks to the presence of former Mount House Deputy Head, Hugh Walkington, and former MH teacher, Jonathan Banyard. It was great to see so many familiar faces as well, especially those who have supported this annual event over many years.
David welcomed everyone and complimented Mount Kelly on supporting children from all backgrounds through providing transformational bursaries (David's charity, The Sekforde Trust, has helped in this regard and donated grants to the School for this purpose). The Head Master, Guy Ayling, gave an update on school news from Tavistock as well as an update on our link with Cumberland Community School in Newham and the Ukainian children who have joined our school.
With the very last revellers not leaving the pub until midnight, it was a truly fantastic evening with many old friendships rekindled and new ones forged! Thank you again to David, and to all those who joined us on the night.
