It was fantastic to see a group of recent leavers who came in to speak to our Year 9 pupils about university and their journeys in getting there. Most were fresh back from their first year with lots of insider knowledge to pass on: Izzy Davis (2008-2022) about Geography at Durham, George Goodfellow (2017-2022) about History at Durham, Nia Quinn (2018-2020) about Marketing at Bath, Emma Bowles (2009-2022) about Natural Sciences at Nottingham and Sephie Sparrow (2015-2022) shared her experience of taking a Gap year while gaining a place to study Veterinary Science at Nottingham. This was a great opportunity to find out which GCSE and A levels to choose and to get some top tips on exam revision as well as an insight into what university life is like. We are hugely grateful to them for giving up their afternoon and so enjoyed seeing them again.
