Former Mount House Deputy Head, Hugh Walkington (1997-2014), has written a beautiful Requiem.

Hugh directed the MH Chapel Choir for ten years, and although he never taught music, it has been an important if not central part of his life since he was a young child. Hugh wrote many simple, yet striking and memorable songs for many school productions during his time at Mount House. Having always wanted to try to write something in four-part harmony, he has written a "Kyrie", which has been very well received by several members of the music community in Devon. The Requiem is a twenty-minute piece with six movements.

It was premiered and sung by Hugh and the Levowan Choir XII at The Minster Church of St. Andrew in Plymouth on Wednesday 13 October to an audience of about 150 people including many former parents and colleagues from Mount House-what an achievement!
